چکیده
The research activities of ACCA are situated in four domains, all centred around the industrial employment of advanced computer architectures: 1) ACCA is specialised in the development of system level design tools for the real-time prototyping and implementation of heterogeneous digital signal processing (DSP) systems. With these tools, it also implements DSP applications for third parties on commercial as well as custom developed target platforms. Special emphasis is currently put on telecommunication applications. 2) ACCA studies and implements fault-tolerance in computer and control systems to enhance their reliability, safety, availability and/or maintainability. Applications include fire extinguishing systems, autonomous guided vehicles and massively parallel number crunchers. 3) ACCA develops algorithms and methods for the control of industrial applications, including fuzzy controllers. 4) ACCA develops transformation techniques to enable the implementation of arbitrary artificial neural networks on digital parallel computers. ACCA's annual report, publication list and recent papers are available by anonymous ftp on 'ftp.esat.kuleuven.ac.be'. Details on the directory structure can be found in the file '/pub/ACCA/readme.txt'. They are also accessable via World Wide Web (URL: The Graphical Rapid Prototyping Environment GRAPE-II is a system level development environment for the specification, compilation, debugging and emulation of digital signal processing applications. GRAPE-II fully supports code generation for multi-rate and asynchronous DSP applications on heterogeneous target multiprocessors.
